I read a book called Make Your Bed by William H McRaven (US Navy Retired). In his book he explains the power of making your bed every morning. He shares the ten principles he learned during the Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life: he explains how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves – and the world for better. How it applies equally to all.
He shares how when you make your bed in the morning you have completed your first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride which in return will encourage you do the next task of the day. It will reinforce to you that the little things in life matter. If you are not able to do the small things in life you will never be able to accomplish the big. Even if you have a shitty day at least you will come home to your bed made.
I was skeptical. But when I started making it a point to make my bed every morning. Is when my life started to feel much more manageable. If there is anything that I have learned in Recovery. It’s that the SMALL things do matter.
ALSO…. I wanted to share that if you don’t have the money to go out and buy a book. There is a app called LIBBY. Download it. Then go to your local library and get a library card. On that card will be your library #. Add your local library and ID number on your Libby App. There are so many books that you can get for FREE. You will have up to 5 loans at a time. It is amazing!!!! On this app is where I’ve read many many good books.
I hope all of you have a great day!!
