Recovery Journal

Hi friends, I just wanted to share a little bit from my Recovery Journal that I made when I was in Intensive Outpatient Therapy.

FORGIVENESS RESPONSIBILITY CONFORMITY CONNECTION WILLINGNESS DESIRE FAITH AUTHENTICITY

“IF WE LIVE TOO MUCH IN THE PAST WE CAN BECOME DEPRESSED, IF WE LIVE TOO MUCH IN THE FUTURE WE CAN BECOME ANXIOUS”

TODAY IS A GIFT THAT’S WHY THEY CALL IT THE PRESENT

A WHO HELPS B HELPS A

LIVING BY VALUES NOT BY GOALS

ADDICTION IS A LIFE LESSON NOT A DEATH SENTENCE

GOOD IDEAS AND GOOD INTENTIONS DO NOT HELP IF WE FAIL TO PUT THEM INTO ACTION

ENDURANCE.. Have you ever heard about tiny Sea turtles that when hatched, must make their way across the seashore to the ocean? If a person picks them up and helps them out, they will die. Do you know why? It is in their struggle through the sand that their little flippers are strengthened. Meaning well, the human provides an easier transit- a ride, if you will. But removing the struggle actually proves detrimental to the turtle. Without strong flippers, they cannot swim. The waves overtake them and they cannot survive.

The same is true for you. If you lived a trouble-free life, you would never grow stronger in your faith walk. You would never develop ENDURANCE. You would be weak where you need to be strong. Trust me in your trials. Rejoice in the storms of life.
